Large pieces of ice may fall in Kentucky

Eastern Kentucky (WVLT Weather Center) -- Sunday's warm weather conditions, partnered with the aftermath of the ice storm may force large pieces of ice to fall to the ground.

Temperatures are warming into the 50's Sunday, causing melting of the ice which could fall from the higher elevations to the ground.

This is a particular concern for areas along and North of the Mountain Parkway.

Anyone outdoors near buildings, trees, power lines, or cliffs should be aware of falling ice.

The ice can also be hazardous while driving so use caution for ice in the road or falling towards vehicles.

Additionally, there's a chance of snow across Eastern Kentucky starting late Sunday night and lasting through Wednesday but little accumulation is expected.
