          How to Operate Pinpoint 8 Desktop Alert          


To minimize the window, just click on the X in the upper right corner. The current temperature will be displayed in your Windows task bar (example above).

 

To maximize the window again, double-click on the WVLT Volunteer TV icon or the current temperature display, like those circled in red above. During severe weather warnings, you will receive a text crawl directly on your computer much like those you are familiar with seeing on television. The crawl is preceded by an audible alert sound, to bring attention to your computer.

All you need is an Internet connection and a Windows-based computer (not available for Macs at this time) to receive the benefits of the many features of Pinpoint 8 Desktop Alert.
